Los Angeles County is now making COVID-19 vaccines available to home health providers, including providers of In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS).

Providers can make an appointment via the SEIU 2015 website or through the LA County vaccination site for health care providers. The LA County page has additional locations that are not offered through the SEIU union. We suggest checking both pages every morning to see if additional locations and time slots have been added. You can also sign up to be on the waitlist at a location.

Be prepared to upload your health insurance information when you register for an appointment. You will also need to bring your IHSS pay stub to your appointment, along with photo ID. Note that these are not drive-through locations because they wait 15 minutes after administering the vaccine to make sure you don’t have a reaction. From what we’ve heard, they are given outdoors in an open space.

Lisa Concoff Kronbeck, Special X’s public benefits specialist, shares that some people are reporting being turned away from the county vaccination sites because they don’t work for an agency, and are being told that the county is prioritizing providers with multiple clients. Others have been successful.

We will keep you updated as we learn more.

Have you received the vaccine yet? If so, please share your experience in the comments!
