VIDEO: What is a Distance Learning Plan?
In this short clip from our Distance Learning 2.0 Panel on legal rights, district collaboration, and FAPE, we asked special education advocate and BCBA Dr. Sarah Pelangka about IEP amendments and the Distance Learning Plans that are being mailed to families. Dr. Pelangka explains that the newly passed Senate Bill 98 adds a Distance Learning Plan (DLP) to every child's IEP; the purpose of the DLP is to describe how the student will access everything in their IEP from home. She wants parents to know that you have the right to collaborate on this plan, and she encourage parents to call an IEP meeting to discuss the plan. Watch the clip to learn more!
